Matteo, Cybersecurity Engineer at MCA Italy

Hello Matteo, can you tell us more about your current project?

• Can you introduce yourself in a few words?

I’m Matteo, I’m passionate by technologies, sport video games.

I’m working at FPT in Turin Since March 2022. In the Automotive sector, it’s important to understand every pace of the work: like Data Analysis, Computer, Engineering and Software.

I have a master’s degree and I carried out internships in different companies, in application with avatars – video games for children. More technical than sectorial.

• Why have you chosen the field of Cybersecurity?

I consider that this sector is growing faster right now. Everything that you’re using today is becoming smart. Cybersecurity plays a huge part in the banking sector, digital. It allows new ways to secure data.

• Can you explain your current mission?

I’m following two projects right now. My role is to analyse the functionality of the projects. I consider the risks, recover the requirements to the problems. I propose some solutions to get a lower risk.

My role is to speak to the engineer’s team, and to follow up with suppliers and hardware, cybersecurity that we want to implement. I need to follow the technical system requirements.

• What challenges you the most?

The challenge is to find the best solution between the suppliers’ needs and what’s possible.  

• What is a good engineer? Best qualities to have?

Good analysis skills, there is always things that you cannot expect.

You need to anticipate and understand very well and always have a global vision.
