Carbon footprint 2023
MCA is proud to unveil the results of its 2023 carbon footprint report, an important step in our sustainability approach.
By conducting this assessment with the support of Greenly, we gained an accurate view of our carbon footprint and identified significant opportunities to continue reducing our environmental impact.
In 2023, MCA emitted a total of 2,070 tons of CO2 equivalent (CO2e), which represents approximately 2 tons per employee. These figures place us among the 25% of the lowest-emitting companies in our sector.
We are particularly pleased with this performance, as it demonstrates our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The breakdown of our emissions is revealing. Direct emissions, or Scope 1, account for 334 tons of CO2e, primarily from our resources and waste.
Indirect emissions, mainly related to electricity (Scope 2), amount to 103 tons of CO2e.
Finally, the majority of our emissions, 1,632 tons of CO2e, come from Scope 3, which includes our purchases of goods and services, business travel, and our vehicle fleet.
In response to these results, we have implemented several initiatives to optimize our carbon footprint :
We have intensified our policy of reducing business travel by promoting virtual meetings, which not only helps us reduce emissions but also improves our operational efficiency.
Additionally, we are renewing our vehicle fleet to adopt less polluting vehicles, with significant improvements expected by 2024. We are also encouraging our employees to use public transportation, such as trains, to replace air travel whenever possible.
These actions are part of our short- and medium-term plan to reduce operational costs while strengthening our position in the market as a responsible company. We firmly believe that these efforts will enable us to meet the growing sustainability expectations of our clients and partners.
In conclusion, MCA's 2023 carbon footprint report is a positive reflection of our commitment to proactive environmental management. We are determined to continue on this path and implement concrete strategies to further reduce our carbon footprint while continuing to provide quality services to our clients.
We thank our teams and employees for their involvement and support in this essential initiative for our future.
