Timothée, AGV Architect

I joined Renault FLINS as an AGV architect. On a daily basis, I design tracks for self-guided vehicles...

Hello Timothée, can you quickly introduce yourself?

Hello ! I am Timothée, I joined the MCA teams in January 2017 when I graduated. I studied Supply Chain for 5 years. First with a DUT in Logistics and Transport before doing a 3rd year in Ireland and my M2 in Logistics at the school in Clermont Ferrand.

How did you discover MCA?

I was first contacted after school by the MCA Lille teams before receiving a proposal from the Parisian offices for a first mission at PSA.

What was your first customer project at MCA?

I started at PSA as a Logistics Engineer. I started my mission at the same time as 5 other MCA engineers. We discovered the world of work together. For me, it was a real plus to be surrounded by this team.

The goal of my mission was to bring together two production buildings into one. At the time, the production lines were divided between two buildings, which posed problems of cost management but also of production rates.

In order to prepare for the arrival of a new vehicle model, my team and I had to think about how to bring the two production lines together without losing productivity and speed.

Can you tell us more about the project you are currently working on at Renault, as AGV architect?

At the end of my assignment at PSA, my manager at MCA proposed a completely different, very challenging project. He gave me a very good orientation by pointing out that this new mission could bring me up in skills and that my human qualities and skills at the moment T largely allowed me to take on this role.

So I joined Renault FLINS as an AGV (Automatic Guided Vehicle) architect. On a daily basis, this involves designing tracks for AGVs. So it's also a question of making plans and sizing the flow according to the production rate. Upstream, of course, we carry out simulations.

In your opinion, what are the qualities needed to succeed in this position?

Demonstrate autonomy, versatility and being proactive.

What do you like best about your current mission?

To see different things! I was able to discover automatism, the job of account manager... I am developing multiple skills: in addition to my missions as an AGV architect, I am also in charge of building sites (negotiating prices, making orders, responding to calls for tenders, presenting quotes to my internal customers, coordinating and monitoring work). I am a Swiss Army Knife doubled as a contractor!

Finally, the strong point was that I was entrusted with the management of 12 transporters, a real sign of confidence!

How was the containment for you? Was it not too complicated?

No and I was not bored at all! At the beginning of the containment, I received a new set of specifications to be processed for the Renault factory in Maubeuge. I ensured continuity of service with Renault by processing this tender. We had all the necessary computer equipment at our disposal, so it was no problem.

How do you see yourself evolving afterwards?

Well, I'm already evolving since I was very recently given the opportunity to manage the integration of Renault AGVs throughout France! So I'm moving from plant to plant to carry out these new projects. It's very rewarding!

How is your "life" at MCA?

It's going very well! There are many opportunities to meet new people: teambuilding, Meet up, end-of-year parties, etc. In fact, I strongly recommend my colleagues to take part in the Meet Up events. We have the opportunity to present our projects in front of an audience of engineers and to discover how other colleagues work. It's very enriching, and the atmosphere is very good.
