Can you introduce yourself?

Hello! I am Marco, I am 26 and I am from Chieti, Italy. I am graduated in Computer and Automation Engineering for my Bachelor’s Degree and in Robotics Engineering for my Master’s Degree. During my university years, I lived in many cities and I also studied one year in Nantes, France. My hobbies are playing basketball and reading books. I also like going to concerts and to the cinema.

What brought you into the engineering world? Was it something you always considered to be your professional path?

I always loved subjects like maths and physics. Then, when I was 16 I got in touch with Robotics world during a conference in my school and I was immediately fascinated by this field. Thus, I thought that Robotics Engineering was my way and now I can say I made the right choice. :)

In your opinion, what are the main qualities necessary to succeed as an engineer?

In my opinion, constancy and curiosity are the main qualities necessary to succeed as an engineer. The former is necessary not to give up when you face hard issues, that can be overcome only step by step, with daily hard work. The latter is very important to grow professionally. I think that curiosity transforms job in a passion.

How did you got in touch with MCA Italy? How did the recruitment process went?

I got in touch with MCA through a job board where I uploaded my CV. The recruitment process was very fast. I was contacted by phone at first and then I did two Skype interviews with MCA Italy and one in person on the client site. The relationship with the recruiters was immediately direct and honest and I liked this very much. Thus in one month I got my first job!

What is your current project, in which industry?

Currently, I am working as Robotics Engineer in an Italian company specialized in industrial automation and therefore production improvement for companies.

My project is focused on “Robotics-by-services”, i.e. I am developing an architecture to make an industrial robot totally commanded by PLC (an industrial microprocessor controller).

What do you like the most about your project, and what do you find challenging?

I really like working with robots and in particular commanding and controlling them. I am very happy to face every day these topics in my job. Furthermore, every day is different from the previous in a continuous process of new issues and related solutions. I find this very stimulating in always make me give 100% of myself and my skills.

How do you see yourself evolving within the industry, and MCA?

My professional plan is to grow inside the Robotics world, by learning new features and keeping me updated on new discoveries. In this process, I see myself growing as a Technical Leader and Project Manager inside MCA.

What do you appreciate the most about working at MCA?

I really appreciate the relationship with the HR department and my Business Manager, that is always sincere and direct. I also appreciate that MCA really focuses its projects on me relying on my passions as well as my experience.

A final word?

Some words I always repeat to me during hard days: “never give up, the greater the effort to face, the greater the satisfaction of the success”.
